Yukon Senior’s Income Supplement<br />

This is a benefit paid to senior citizens <strong>of</strong> the Yukon by<br />

the Yukon Territorial <strong>Government</strong>. To be eligible you<br />

must be receiving one <strong>of</strong> the following federal pensions:<br />

GIS, Allowance or Allowance for the Survivor. This<br />

pension, which is up to a maximum <strong>of</strong> $200.00 per<br />

month, will be paid automatically if you meet the above<br />

requirements. There is no application for this benefit.<br />

Benefits are based on your Income Tax Return. Once in<br />

receipt <strong>of</strong> YSIS, a yearly income must be completed or<br />

benefits suspended.<br />

Tax Deductions from your Canada Pension Plan <strong>and</strong> Old<br />

Age Security benefits are optional. If you wish to have a<br />

tax deduction from your Canada Pension Plan (CPP) or<br />

Old Age Security (OAS) benefit or change the amount <strong>of</strong><br />

an existing voluntary tax withhold, please visit a Service<br />
