(Ord., passed 7-17-89) § 156.026 FARMING DISTRICT. (A) Purpose. The purpose of a farming district is to provide an area where agricultural activities and related uses may take place with the assurance that the subdivisions and residential development of land will not be allowed to diminish the agricultural use and change the character of the countryside. Agricultural activities are the principal uses, and secondary residential uses are permitted. This district places a restriction upon the land area required for the principal agricultural uses. The subdivision and residential development of rural property are regulated by the provision of this district to reduce the haphazard placement of more intensive residential densities in rural areas, and to encourage the continuation of agricultural activities in the rural areas surrounding the village. It is further intended to reduce health hazards resulting from pollution of the ground, water tables, and drainage areas. (B) Objectives. The following objectives may be obtained by the establishment of the farming district: (1) Conserve lands suitable for agricultural activities for the education, health and general welfare of the public. (2) Prevent conflicts in uses created by the intrusion of incompatible non-agricultural uses. (3) Reduce health hazards resulting from pollution of the ground, water tables and aquifers, and drainage areas. (C) The following farming district is established: F Farming (Ord., passed 7-17-89)
