Wael Allan
Key Experience and Background
Wael Allan combines charismatic leadership with excellent

Wael has a strong background in multinational business
management having worked for a number of major
engineering and construction companies including Humphreys
& Glasgow, Badger Catalytic, Raytheon Engineers and
Constructors and Skanska USA Building.
Wael, who is fluent in Arabic, has extensive experience in
running global businesses through his work in Saudi Arabia,
Japan, Germany, the UK and USA. Wael is a Chartered Engineer
and Scientist with 20 years experience in the industry.
He specialises in project delivery, project and programme
management, risk management, quality and documentation.
Wael holds an M.S.c in Biochemical Engineering and B.Eng
in Chemical Engineering, graduating with Honours from
the University of Swansea in the UK. He has also received
Executive education and development programs from
Harvard and the Wharton School. In 2008, he was inducted
into Cambridge Who’s Who Executive, Professional &
Entrepreneurial Registry.
Wael is also a member of the management team and Executive
Board of the Hyder Consulting Group.

2009 – Date Hyder Consulting Middle East Limited – Regional Managing Director
Responsible for positioning Hyder Consulting to be the leading International
Advisory and design Consulting Services in the Middle East. Working through
3 main market sectors: Property, Transportation & Infrastructure and Water &
Environment providing Consultancy and Project delivery from Dubai, Abu Dhabi,
Al Ain, Qatar and Bahrain.
Involved in development of Regional Strategy and key Client accounts.
2003 – 2009 Skanska USA Building Inc., Parsipanny NJ – Executive Vice President
Responsible for positioning Skanska to be the leading construction manager and
design builder for the Science & Technology sector. Working with the local offices
(Execution Centres) developing a business strategy locally and nationally to win
and execute fife and sciences, sustainable energy, and technical services projects.
This encompassed development of marketing strategy, local and national project
pursuit strategy, account management, technical support (methodology and
project execution), client liaison and follow up. The centre of excellence oversees
projects totalling US$500 Million.
Also responsible as President & CEO / Skanska Pharmaceutical Group, Blue Bell,
PA: Responsible for overseeing all commissioning & qualification projects and
Business Development globally; developing a unique methodology encompassing
Quality, Risk Management and reduced Time-to Market; and the development and
implementation of a global quality program including “Good Practice Training &
Certification”.
1992 – 1999 Raytheon Engineers & Constructors – Director
While with the company he established the Validation group in UK, expanding
rapidly to employ over 60 Engineers/Specialist in 18 months. Diversification
to include consultancy tripled operating profits, while geographical expansion
further enhance profitability. He spent time in Japan setting up a joint venture,
moving to Europe to establish local offices in Germany & Switzerland as well as
executing projects in China and the Middle-East.
1989 – 1992 H & G Engineering – Bio Process Engineer
Involved in multiple projects for the food, biotech, pharmaceutical, chemical and
oil & gas industries.
