Particularly relevant to Destination Marketing Organisations, but of interest to anyone responsible for dealing
with airlines and local airport authorities.
Description
Two of our speakers represent companies that are the leading consultants to airports and airlines around the world
about the effective development of their global and regional routes networks, and they are joined by an ICCA
colleague from Hyderabad's own fast-expanding, award-winning international airport. Destination Marketing
Organisations are increasingly getting involved in these strategic issues alongside their airports, so this session
offers a unique opportunity to understand how the economics and politics of network expansion really work, how
DMOs can support and influence the process, and what other issues influence the future success of your local airport.
RDG also organises the well-known series of Routes conferences, a great opportunity for destination marketing
professionals to interact with airline and airport decision-makers.
General interest for anyone interested in India's important future role in the global economy.
Format Presentation + Question & Answer
Description
By the year 2020 there will be over 500 million Indians between school entry level and age 35. Will they become a
powerful force for growth and progress both in India and in the wider world, or a cause of massive social upheaval?
How does education - basic, university, and lifelong - play a critical role in determining the answers to this
fundamental question? At this session you'll understand the barriers that India has had to overcome in building a
society-wide educational strategy, the continuing challenges - financial, political, social, institutional - that have to be
fought every day, and the opportunities and benefits that will flow throughout the globalised economy if India can
deliver the right educational answers for its citizens.
Audience
General interest; particularly interesting for those who don't yet know much about Apps.
Description
Most meetings and trade show attendees are carrying web-enabled phones. These “micro-computers” are
increasingly being used for networking, lead exchange, electronic ticketing, way finding, audience polling, surveys,
pocket programs, pocket exhibit guides, course notes/literature collection and much more. New phone apps for
events are emerging daily. This program will cover the hottest new mobile trends for meetings and what is likely
coming in the next few years.
Learner objectives:
• Explore the wide range of emerging mobile applications for meetings and tradeshows.
• See how these tools can help meeting planners do their jobs more efficiently, greatly improve the attendee
experience and help reduce the blizzard of paper commonly found at events.
• Receive numerous links for free meeting-industry related phone applications that you can start using today.
