45407 at Weybourne 80072 at Weybourne In a positioning move from the East Lancashire <strong>Railway</strong> 37518 ‘Fort William / An Gearasdan’ hauled 70000 ‘Britannia’ with 45407 on the rear, seen at 16.50 at Whittingham Junction on the 7 th March (see photo opposite top). 37518 only appeared in service on Sunday 10 th March. 24
photos by Stuart Moore Preservation Infrastructure News Keith & Dufftown <strong>Railway</strong> (KDR): During the latter half of 2012, the unused two road shed formerly located near Drummuir Station has been moved up to the southern end of the line at Dufftown. Currently served by only by the platform track, it has at least enabled covered accommodation over the winter to re-paint two of the five resident Cl.108 DMUs, 50628 and 56224 (the latter was formerly rail blue). These two have started the season as the service train (along with 51568 these have small destination roof boxes). A third Cl.108, 52053 is inside the shed awaiting its turn for the paint brush. Unfortunately it is not long enough to accommodate a 2 car unit but funds are being raised to construct a second track which will stop stock parked alongside the station platform having to be shunted out of the way. The top photo shows the end of the line beyond the shed on which a point will be installed to form a shunting neck. The line originally continued to Craigellachie. The track on the right is actually a public footpath which runs along the platform and out to the adjacent road by the station. The second photo below, taken Easter Monday shows the approach to the shed with 56491 alongside the platform (both 56491 & 25
