General: On the 5 th March a lorry
demolished about 20ft of the wall on the
bridge over the line at Campbell Road.
The debris fell beside the up line and all
traffic was halted for a while to allow
Network Rail to inspect. Once checked, a
speed restriction was placed on both up
and down lines to ensure that vibrations
didn’t bring down any more of the wall.
Locos:
73204 departed the Works on the 5 th for
Southampton Docks and then via lorry to
Brush Traction at Loughborough for
conversion to 73902. It is seen passing
the damaged wall (right).
