A. Old Business
2. Personnel Policies
The Personnel Policies have now been red-lined and sent to the board for comments; none
have been received. It is important that the board read and be knowledgeable of the
personnel policies. The board will bring any comments to the next meeting .
3. Board Compensation Analysis—Jacqueline Schellinger will be speaking with Kevin’s
firm.
4. Potawatomi Supplemental Payment Update
The date for arbitration concerning the CPI payment is October 10, 2006. The interpretation
of start date is at issue. The School interprets the start date to be 2001, but the Potawatomi
interprets the date to be 2002.
5. Electa Quinney—No Report
6. Building Construction Update
The building is going well. Joanne Williams from Channel 6 wants to do a piece. The
Wisconsin Chapter of American Council of Architects wants to take UWM students to the site.
Jacqueline Schellinger suggested that Chris Cornelius lead the tour. The national chapter of
the American Institute of Architects is meeting in April and want to schedule a tour.
The Fire Department of Franklin wants ICS to put a sprinkling system on the outside of the
building. This would ruin the look of the building, and have a cost of $250,000. The
Wisconsin Department of Commerce did not grant the petition was not granted that no viable
components John Micelli will pull Old state code to show that glue lams and wooden deck
are not highly combustible materials, before the international code changed. The City of
Franklin is working to come up with a solution. We would have a covenant with the land to
hold harmless the City of Franklin.????
We need to start to pay attention to the interior of the building. Ad hoc committee is
compensable.
It was moved by Trina Schuyler and seconded by Mark Denning that a sub-committee
of the BCC be formed to focus on the interior design and the Furniture, Fixtures and
Equipment (FF&E), and that Chris Cornelius shall head such committee as a
consultant at a rate of $90 per hour. The members of said committee are Diane Amour,
Carmen Flores, Margaret Bublitz, Tom Buestrin, and Mac Slater. The meetings of this
sub-committee shall be considered the same as a meeting of the BCC. The motion
passed unanimously (7-0-0).
1. 2006-07 Budget
It was moved by DJ Klauser and seconded by Carmen Flores to adopt the 2006-2007
budget, except for capital purchases. The purchase of the flutes will be approved.
Margaret Bublitz asked that the capital purchases we reviewed and addressed at the
next open meeting.
The motion was passed unanimously (7-0-0)
