Applications are <strong>in</strong>vited for a group leader position at the <strong>IMP</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Vienna</strong>, Austria.<br />

The <strong>IMP</strong> wishes to expand its grow<strong>in</strong>g neuroscience faculty, and is particularly <strong>in</strong>terested <strong>in</strong><br />

candidates apply<strong>in</strong>g molecular, genetic, physiological and/or computational methods to the<br />

study of neural circuit function <strong>in</strong> vertebrate systems.<br />

This position can be filled at either the junior or senior level.<br />

The <strong>IMP</strong> offers <strong>in</strong>ternationally competitive salaries, generous funds for positions, <strong>in</strong>vestments<br />

and runn<strong>in</strong>g costs and full access to scientific services, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the newly opened 2000 m 2<br />

mouse house.<br />

The <strong>IMP</strong> conducts basic research <strong>in</strong> molecular cell biology, neurobiology and molecular medic<strong>in</strong>e.<br />

<strong>IMP</strong> <strong>Vienna</strong> Fellowships for<br />

INDEPENDENT POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHERS<br />

<strong>IMP</strong> Fellows are given the opportunity to conduct <strong>in</strong>novative and <strong>in</strong>dependent research <strong>in</strong> any<br />

area of the molecular life sciences.<br />

<strong>IMP</strong> Fellows will receive an attractive salary, full set up and runn<strong>in</strong>g costs, opportunity to tra<strong>in</strong><br />

undergraduate students, and access to the research services at the <strong>IMP</strong> and IMBA, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g<br />

biooptics, mass spectrometry, bio<strong>in</strong>formatics, DNA sequenc<strong>in</strong>g, media kitchen, and animal<br />

facilities. <strong>IMP</strong> Fellows may select one or more mentors from the <strong>IMP</strong> and IMBA faculty, but will<br />

conduct and publish their research <strong>in</strong>dependently.<br />

Applicants must have obta<strong>in</strong>ed their PhD not more than 18 months prior to the application date.<br />

<strong>IMP</strong> Fellowships are offered for 4 years, with possible promotion to a group leader position after<br />

3 years.<br />
