Forrer [BDM] writing of the larger signed medal for the same event,<br />
suggests that the medallist may be the sculptor Pieter Xavery (born<br />
c.1647, active 1667-1674), “who did not wish to disclose his name<br />
in connection with the execution of this medal”. Scher, The Proud<br />
Republic, simply states it may be a pseudonym.<br />
