461 A Post <strong>World</strong> War II Collection of <strong>Coins</strong> (approx<br />

500), including all denominations from Pfennig<br />

to 5-Marks except the 2-Marks, and includes one<br />

10-Marks, the coins mostly date from 1948 in the<br />

case of the Pfennigs and 1949-1950 for all other<br />

denominations, but also includes a few earlier<br />

pieces. Conditions vary from average circulated to<br />

extremely fine or better for the later issues, an interesting<br />

lot especially for the date/mintmark collector with many<br />

scarce and rare issues. (lot) £250-300<br />

1930 (KM 73, 72). First two very fine, last better and<br />

30-Drachmai (11), 1963; with “Wedding”<br />

Commemorative 30-Drachmai, 1964, and Silver<br />

20-Drachmai, 1960 (KM 86, 87, 85). Extremely fine to<br />

462 John Kapodistrias (1828-1831), Copper 5-Lepta (3),<br />

10-Lepta (6), 20-Lepta, 1828-1831 (KM 2, 3, 12, 11).<br />

Generally fair, one or two better, most damaged and one<br />

holed. (10) £100-120<br />

468 Constantine II (1964-1973), Silver 100-Drachmai<br />

(2), 50-Drachmai (2), 1970 (but dated 1967),<br />

commemorating the so called “Colonel’s coup” of<br />

21 April 1967 (KM 94, 93). One 50-Drachmai toned,<br />

otherwise all uncirculated and scare. (4) £200-250<br />

463 Otho (1832-1862), Silver Drachma (2), 1832, 1833A<br />

(KM 15), ½-Drachma (2), 1833, 1834A (KM 19).<br />

1833A Drachma fine and scarce, the others better.<br />

464 Otho, Copper 10-Lepta (15), 5-Lepta (14), 2-Lepta<br />

(15) and 1-Lepton (13), including almost all dates<br />

with the exception of the very rare key varieties<br />

such as the 1836 5-Lepta and 1834 1-Lepton. A few<br />

damaged and only fair but many dates and denominations<br />

in fine condition, with the odd piece better, many rare, a<br />

fantastic starter lot. (57) £300-400<br />

469 Proof Silver 100-Drachmai (2), 1978, commemorating<br />

the 50 th Anniversary of the Bank of<br />

Greece, and 1988, commemorating the 28 th Chess<br />

Olympics (KM 121, 152), with Proof 1-Drachma,<br />

2-Drachmai, 5-Drachmai and 10-Drachmai, 1965<br />

(KM 81-84). First two in sealed plastic as issued, all<br />

465 George I (1863-1913), Silver 2-Drachmai, 1873, 1-<br />

Drachma (2), 1868, 1873 (KM 39, 38). All very fine or<br />

better, the first with some field hairlines. (3) £150-200<br />

470 Ionian Islands, ½-Obol (4), 1-Obol and 2-Oboli,<br />

1819-1820 (KM 31-33). Generally fine, the larger<br />

pieces somewhat better. (6) £100-120
