Wine Tasting in
LIVERMORE VALLEY WINE COUNTRY
Barrel Tasting Opportunity with Livermore Valley Wineries
More than 30 Livermore Valley
wineries will participate in the region’s
third annual Barrel Tasting Weekend
March 31 and April 1 by offering
samples of wines still in development –
direct from their barrels. Guests with
special event wristbands and official
glasses will receive at least one barrel
sample at each participating winery.
Most winemakers will be present to
personally pour and discuss their
young wines and offer delicious pairings
with gourmet appetizers, artisan cheeses, chocolate and nuts.
Barrel tasting provides wine enthusiasts of all experience levels
with a fun “snapshot” of how wine evolves – from grape to glass.
LIVERMORE WINE COUNTRY
LONGEVITY WINES
2271 South Vasco rd. Ste B, livermore, 925-443-Wine
The winery is family owned and operated by Phil and Debra Long, along
with their resident wine dog, PressTon. Come and enjoy tasting Longevity’s
flagship wines, “Deb-ru vee”, their Rhone-style blend, and “Phil-osophy,”
their Bordeaux-style blend as well as many others.
Guests will have the opportunity to
pre-purchase some of the barrel wines
at a discount, before they are bottled
and released to the public, a practice
known as buying “futures.” More than
a dozen different varietals, including
the rare Primitivo and Alicante
Bouschet and ever-popular Chardonnay
and Cabernet Sauvignon, will be
presented for tasting across this beautiful
wine region. Each winery will offer
a unique experience to Barrel Tasting
Weekend guests. Many will give discounts on wine purchases to
ticket holders only.
Livermore Valley’s Barrel Tasting Weekend will take place
Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1, noon to 4:30 p.m. each
day. Advance tickets are $30, available online at www.LVwine.org.
Tickets purchased at the event will be $35 per person. Each ticket
includes a souvenir tasting glass featuring the Livermore Valley
Wine Country logo, two days of barrel tasting at participating
wineries, special activities and discounts and an event map. Visit
www.LVwine.org for details.
