PART 1 PRELIMINARY<br />

SECTION 1.1<br />

GENERAL<br />

1.1.1 Citation<br />

These Regulations may be cited as the Building Control Regulations, 2009.<br />

1.1.2 Definitions<br />

In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires:<br />

1.1.2.1. 'Acceptable'<br />

Means acceptable, adequate or suitable <strong>building</strong>s;<br />

1.1.2.2. 'Access door'<br />

1.1.2.3. 'Act'<br />

Means an entrance to an escape or emergency route;<br />

Means the Building Control Act, 2009.<br />

1.1.2.4. 'Applicant'<br />

Means any person who intends to carry out <strong>building</strong> operations and who<br />

makes an application;<br />

1.1.2.5. 'Application'<br />

Shall have the meaning assigned to it in the Act;<br />

1.1.2.6. 'Approval'<br />

Means<br />

a) Approval by the Committee, including approval contemplated by<br />

section 35 of the Act; or<br />

b) Approval authorized by the Review Board on appeal in accordance<br />

with the Act;<br />

1.1.2.7. 'Approved'<br />

Means<br />

a) Approved by the Committee or Minister; or<br />

b) Authorised by the Review Board on appeal made in accordance with<br />

the Act;<br />

1.1.2.8. 'Approved plan'<br />

Means a plan or plans retained by the Committee being a true copy of<br />

the plan or plans approved;<br />
