Building Control Regulations Part 2<br />

2.1.5.2 The minimum qualification for an Assistant Building Inspection Officer who<br />

will be assisting the Building Inspection Officer and carrying out <strong>building</strong><br />

inspection work shall be:<br />

a) Ordinary diploma, or its equivalent, in one or more of the following<br />

disciplines;<br />

i. Architecture<br />

ii. Building Construction<br />

iii. Civil Engineering<br />

iv. Structural Engineering<br />

b) A minimum of three years continuous employment in the construction<br />

industry.<br />

2.1.6 Standardisation of Interpretation<br />

2.1.6.1 Where so requested in writing by the Committee or by the owner of any<br />

<strong>building</strong> or any person having an interest therein, the Review Board shall<br />

examine the plans, specifications and other documents accompanying or<br />

intended to accompany any <strong>building</strong> application to the Committee, perform<br />

any tests considered to be necessary and inspect the site on which such<br />

<strong>building</strong> is to be erected, and shall issue a report in connection therewith.<br />

2.1.6.2 Where the Review board has found the proposed <strong>building</strong> to comply with all<br />

the relevant requirements of these Regulations it shall make its findings<br />

known accordingly, and any application for approval to erect such <strong>building</strong><br />

where accompanied by the report from the Review Board, shall be deemed<br />

to satisfy the requirements of the Order.<br />

2.1.7 Design Work in Progress<br />

2.1.7.1 Where modifications on design work for <strong>building</strong> operations had<br />

commenced and significantly progressed before the date of operation of<br />

these Regulations the owner of such <strong>building</strong> operations shall notify the<br />

Committee in writing of his intention to proceed with any previously granted<br />

Building Permit prior to the expiry of the period determined by the<br />

Committee.<br />

2.1.7.2 The owner shall deliver such notification under Article 2.1.7.1 of these<br />

Regulations by registered post within 90 days from the date of<br />

commencement of these Regulations, giving the following information:<br />

a) Name and address of the owner;<br />

b) Plot reference number;<br />

c) Name and address of the designer,<br />

d) Date of commencement of such modification design work;<br />

e) Stage of the modification on design work at the date of application of<br />

these Regulations;<br />

f) Description of the proposed <strong>building</strong> operations; and<br />

g) Intended use of the <strong>building</strong>.<br />

2.1.7.3 The Committee shall acknowledge receipt of such notification and shall revalidate<br />

the existing <strong>building</strong> permit.<br />
