Dr. Mark Illan Silberman attended Duke University, Georgetown University Medical School, and State University of New York – Downstate Medical Center. He completed Plastic Surgery training at Downstate Medical Center in New York. He is Board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Silberman has been in private practice on Long Island for 24 years, with offices in Great Neck and Rockville Center, and has clinical positions at nine area hospitals, including North Shore University Hospital, Long Island Jewish Hospital, and St. Francis Hospital. Dr. Silberman specializes in cosmetic surgery as well as post-mastectomy breast reconstruction, and lectures frequently on these topics. Dr. Ian L. Bourhill, a cosmetic surgeon in Huntington, New York became board certified as a General Surgeon before becoming board certified in Plastic Surgery. He has been in private practice for the past 13 years on Long Island with a special interest in breast surgery and body contouring. Patient safety and compassionate care are priorities which are emphasized in both office-based and hospital settings. Minor procedures are performed in the office under New York State DOH guidelines. More involved procedures are performed in a hospital or Surgicenter setting. He has held his plastic surgery practice in Long Island for over 9 years. His residency training for plastic surgery was performed at SUNY Stony Brook (Surgery) and the LIPS Plastic Surgery Program, through Nassau County University Hospital, with affiliations at North Shore and Winthrop. Dr. Marguerite McDonald is a cornea/refractive/anterior segment specialist with Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island, in Lynbrook. She is presently a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at NYU and an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She is a staff physician at both the Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital and the Island Eye Center in Carle Place. She is currently a senior consultant for VISX and was previously the Medical Director for Alcon/Summit/Autonomous. Dr. McDonald was also a principal investigator for the Chiron Technologies (now Bausch and Lomb) and Nidek EC 5000 lasers. She has had 493 abstracts, 79 books and book chapters, 48 interviews/panel discussions/CD ROMs/videos, and 473 articles published. Dr. McDonald has also been featured on Good Morning America and the CBS Evening News. Dr. Steven A. Talerman is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Nassau County Dental Society, and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and maintains a private practice specializing in esthetic, implant, and general dentistry in Roslyn, N.Y. Wayne Wertheim, M.D. is the founder and medical director of Advanced Laser of Long Island, which has offices in both Nassau and Suffolk. Advanced Laser is an aesthetic skin center specializing in the most technologically advanced procedures to rejuvenate skin and is the first area center to utilize the brand new MXP SmartLipo system.
