PERSONNEL MANUAL REVIEW: Although <strong>the</strong><br />
Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual was revised in Fiscal<br />
Year 2009, <strong>the</strong> <strong>Court</strong> recognized that revisions and enhancements<br />
were required and established <strong>the</strong> Personnel Manual Review.<br />
During this fiscal year, <strong>the</strong> Committee which is comprised <strong>of</strong><br />
various management staff, and representatives <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> supervisors<br />
and regular staff members, has been actively engaged in its review<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Manual. It is expected that <strong>the</strong>ir recommendations will be<br />
forwarded to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Court</strong>’s senior management for <strong>the</strong>ir review and<br />
approval during FY2011.<br />
TRAVEL REGULATIONS: During Fiscal Year <strong>2010</strong>,<br />
<strong>the</strong> <strong>Court</strong> adopted and implemented its Travel Regulations Policy<br />
that is in conjunction with established law and <strong>Court</strong> rules.<br />
THE DIVISION OF<br />
INFORMATION<br />
TECHNOLOGY<br />
The Division <strong>of</strong> Information Technology is responsible for<br />
<strong>the</strong> Superior <strong>Court</strong>’s technology infrastructure. The current<br />
technology infrastructure facilitates internal and external<br />
communication, in addition to research and <strong>the</strong> processing <strong>of</strong><br />
cases within <strong>the</strong> current case management system, aka eNACT.<br />
Additionally, <strong>the</strong> IT staff is also responsible for <strong>the</strong> purchasing <strong>of</strong><br />
various computer hardware, s<strong>of</strong>tware, technology supplies and<br />
<strong>the</strong> myriad <strong>of</strong> support items required to maintain this complex<br />
information infrastructure.<br />
The Information Technology Division continues to strive to<br />
keep <strong>the</strong> Superior <strong>Court</strong> moving forward with technology. This<br />
division is constantly motivated to staying abreast with <strong>the</strong><br />
latest technology while providing reliable, secure and redundant<br />
services that are in constant demand by <strong>the</strong> <strong>Court</strong>. Fiscal Year<br />
<strong>2010</strong> saw <strong>the</strong> implementation and completion <strong>of</strong> several projects,<br />
even as <strong>the</strong> division experienced new challenges. Additionally, IT<br />
continues to strategize with new initiatives and ongoing projects<br />
as <strong>the</strong> <strong>Court</strong> moves forward into <strong>the</strong> new Fiscal Year (FY11).<br />
The Information Technology Division was instrumental in<br />
facilitating several major initiatives during FY<strong>2010</strong>, which<br />
included <strong>the</strong> following:<br />
1. Upgrades to <strong>the</strong> Domain Controllers;<br />
2. Enhancements to <strong>the</strong> Storage Area Network;<br />
3. Installation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Mushroom Network Truffle;<br />
4. Installation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> FTR (For <strong>the</strong> Record) and Mobile FTR<br />
<strong>Court</strong>room Systems; and,<br />
5. Participation in <strong>the</strong> selection <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> new Case Management<br />
System.<br />
This division continues to work on a series <strong>of</strong> on-going projects<br />
to enable <strong>the</strong> <strong>Court</strong> to meet its mandates in a timely and efficient<br />
manner. Several <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se projects are noted below:<br />
1. S<strong>of</strong>tware upgrades that includes moving from Exchange<br />
2003 to Exchange <strong>2010</strong> for <strong>the</strong> <strong>Court</strong>’s Emailing system and<br />
from Office 2003 to Office <strong>2010</strong>;<br />
2. Upgrades to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Court</strong>’s Website;<br />
3. S<strong>of</strong>tware upgrade to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Court</strong>’s Jury Management System;<br />
4. Implementation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> E-citation project, in conjunction<br />
with <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Highway Safety; and,<br />
5. Continuing to work with all parties – internally and<br />
externally – towards <strong>the</strong> installation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> new Case<br />
Management System.<br />
