Onsite Sewage System and General Sewage Sanitation Regulations<br />
(b) Encroachment by buildings or other structures;<br />
(c) Utilities;<br />
(d) Vehicular traffic;<br />
(e) Cover by impervious material;<br />
(f) Landslides or other geologic hazards;<br />
(g) Inclusion within livestock confinement areas; or<br />
(h) Other activities that may adversely affect the soil or performance<br />
<strong>of</strong> the onsite sewage system.<br />
b) Excavate a minimum <strong>of</strong> two (2) soil logs in the proposed primary area,<br />
and one (when primary and reserve areas are immediately adjacent) or<br />
two (2) (when primary and reserve areas are not immediately adjacent)<br />
soil logs in the proposed reserve area. Soil logs shall be:<br />
(1) Located in areas <strong>of</strong> native and undisturbed soil;<br />
(2) Located and spaced sufficiently to adequately characterize the<br />
primary and reserve areas;<br />
(3) Excavated with a backhoe or other sufficient device;<br />
(4) Excavated to a minimum horizontal dimension <strong>of</strong> 2-feet by 2-feet;<br />
(5) Excavated to a minimum depth <strong>of</strong> three (3) feet below the designated<br />
soil/soil dispersal component interface, or to the maximum annual<br />
water table elevation or restrictive layer;<br />
(6) Sufficient to determine soil type, depth, and structural changes;<br />
(7) Sufficient to demonstrate conformance with the proposed sewage<br />
treatment and effluent distribution;<br />
(8) Marked and labeled sufficiently to allow for <strong>Health</strong> Officer inspection<br />
and relation to the site plan;<br />
(9) Include a physical warning barrier around the soil log when deeper<br />
than 3-feet or when located in an area where it may present a public<br />
safety hazard;<br />
(10) Sufficient to allow <strong>Health</strong> Officer inspection and examination <strong>of</strong> the<br />
soil pr<strong>of</strong>ile;<br />
(11) Measured on the down-slope side <strong>of</strong> the soil log; and<br />
