5. Treatment Component Tank or Vessel Requirements.<br />

a) Treatment components shall have a minimum liquid capacity, or design<br />

size, to meet the daily design capacity for the proposed development;<br />

b) The selection <strong>of</strong> treatment components shall meet the minimum level <strong>of</strong><br />

treatment performance as required by Table 3 in Section 10.E.; and<br />

c) The selection <strong>of</strong> treatment components shall meet the intended use <strong>of</strong> the<br />

proposed development.<br />

d) Treatment component tanks or vessels shall be designed to meet the<br />

construction requirements in Section 12.D.5.<br />

6. Soil Dispersal Components.<br />

a) All soil dispersal components shall meet the following requirements:<br />

(1) Consist <strong>of</strong> enough designated area to enable the construction <strong>of</strong> 100<br />

percent-sized primary and reserve areas based upon the type <strong>of</strong> soil<br />

dispersal component utilized, and include the required setback<br />

distances between trenches or beds <strong>of</strong> the same system;<br />

(2) Be orientated with the natural soil contours (i.e., perpendicular to the<br />

direction <strong>of</strong> slope) such that the infiltrative surface can be constructed<br />

level to within a tolerance <strong>of</strong> plus or minus one inch (excluding drip<br />

irrigation);<br />

(3) Be located a minimum <strong>of</strong> five (5) feet away from the nearest sewage<br />

tank or vessel;<br />

(4) Be located at least 30 inches away from the nearest distribution box;<br />

(5) Distribution boxes shall be located at least 30 inches from the nearest<br />

sewage tank or vessel;<br />

(6) A minimum <strong>of</strong> six (6) inches <strong>of</strong> sidewall must be located in native,<br />

undisturbed soil, except for serial distribution configurations where a<br />

minimum 12 inches <strong>of</strong> sidewall must be located in original<br />

undisturbed soil, as measured on the down-slope side <strong>of</strong> the trench;<br />

(7) The infiltrative surface may not be deeper than three (3) feet below<br />

the finished grade, except under special conditions approved by the<br />

<strong>Health</strong> Officer. In such instances, the depth <strong>of</strong> such system shall not<br />

exceed ten feet from the finished grade;<br />

(8) Include a layer <strong>of</strong> suitable cover material between six (6) and 24<br />

inches, with a finished grade that will divert surface water away from<br />

the soil dispersal component;<br />
