2000-series engines cover many marine
applications, both propulsion and auxiliary.
They have 8, 10, 12, or 16 cylinders in
V-formation, a bore of 135mm and a stroke of
156mm. They have common rail injection
and are a development of the basic
2000-series. Typical ratings are 800kW from
16 cylinders for heavy duty propulsion, and
695kW for a 12V2000M41B, 60Hz, genset.
Medium- and high-speed engines
in an extended range
The new entity brings together the well-known MTU and Bergen engine names,
extending the product portfolio to include both medium-speed and high-speed
diesel and gas engines.
When integrated with the extensive range of Rolls-Royce ship designs and
equipment, a much broader range of advanced marine solutions will be available for
customers across the commercial marine sector, where economical and reliable
performance, environmental compliance and power density are important factors.
