Charity work:
On the 29th of June 2013 as a way of
commemorating the 1994 Genocide
against the Tutsis through CSR, Simba
supermarket staff visited seven families
comprising of twenty three orphaned
children at the Indera village in Gasabo
district. These are households that have
no parents and the children are left to
fend for themselves. The eldest children
in the family are the ones left with the
soul responsibility of taking of care of the
younger ones.
These families luck exposure to basic
necessities and thus our visit. During our
visit, we donated blankets, clothes and basic
food stuffs. We also selected three young
adults and offered them employment in our
various departments.
They are currently undergoing training so
as to enable them to take up their new
job positions. As we carry out our CSR we
believe in offering sustainable solutions and
believe that these young adults will now be
able to provide for their families accordingly
that which they did not have before.
The 16th Rwanda International Trade Expo 2013
The Rwanda International trade expo is
an event that attracts many exhibitors
international, regional and local. As local
retail we also took part in the event. We
also managed to scope various awards
during the gala night. In the category of
Retail and distribution we were awarded
the 1st Best Exhibitor trophy.
In the overall category we also managed
to scope the 3rd Best Exhibitor Award.
We dedicate these awards to our team
that worked tirelessly and effortlessly in
the planning and execution of our expo
stand. We also thank all the people who
visited our stand and more so thank the
committee in charge of the selection of
the best exhibitors for acknowledging our
efforts.
