The Management major prepares cadets for management and leadership roles in today’s technologically complex, global <strong>Air</strong><br />
<strong>Force</strong>. The curriculum is designed to develop cadets who can understand, analyze, and improve organizations through the<br />
efficient and effective use of systems. The courses in the major help students develop adaptive capacity and the organizational<br />
knowledge and skills vital for <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Force</strong> officers as well as future national leaders. The Management major is accredited by<br />
the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and ranks among the most prestigious undergraduate<br />
management and business degrees in the nation. The <strong>Academy</strong>’s curriculum, together with our core courses, provide an<br />
excellent educational foundation for cadets interested in pursuing <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Force</strong> careers such as Acquisition Manager; <strong>Air</strong> Battle<br />
Manager; <strong>Air</strong>craft Maintenance; Communications and Information; Contracting; Cost Analysis; Financial Management; Health<br />
Services Administrator; Intelligence; Logistics Readiness; Navigator; Pilot; Security Police; Space and Missile Operations;<br />
and Special Investigator. Additionally, the Management major prepares cadets interested in pursuing graduate degrees in<br />
Management, Management Science, and/or Business Administration.<br />
The Management major is designed to produce critical thinkers who will lead organizations to quickly adapt and succeed in<br />
rapidly changing, highly technical, global environments. Management majors study traditional managerial and business topics<br />
such as organizational perspectives and theories, global organizations, complex human systems, financial and managerial<br />
accounting, managerial finance, human resource management, marketing, production and operations management, information<br />
systems, and strategic management. Related subjects, such as personal finance and investing, are also popular among our<br />
majors.<br />

Mgt 303. Management Perspectives. Introduces students to the complex and dynamic nature of the world in which <strong>Air</strong><br />
<strong>Force</strong> officers and managers operate. They are introduced to various perspectives that provide multiple insights into how the<br />
world functions.<br />
Mgt 341. Financial Accounting. Analysis of business transactions and recording of business data taught from the<br />
perspective of understanding the theoretical and practical issues in measurement of income, assets, liabilities, and owner’s<br />
equity. Annual reports are used to perform financial statement analysis. Alternative accounting methodologies permitted under<br />
GAAP are explored.<br />
Mgt 342. Managerial Accounting. Focuses on the uses of accounting information by managers. Discusses full cost<br />
accounting and responsibility accounting, from the perspective of data collection and analysis, for short and long range<br />
decisions. Topics include cost behavior, activity-based costing, contribution margin analysis, measurement of cost of goods<br />
manufactured, capital budgeting, and management control systems.<br />
Mgt 345. Human Managerial Systems I. Introduction to individual and group theories of behavior, and their integration<br />
into the organization as-a-whole. Theories of attitude, behavior, and cognition are applied to the understanding of how to make<br />
decisions based on accurate diagnoses of situations that involve people in organizational systems. Organizational behavior<br />
