With a commitment to inspire
consumers to
live simply,
Patagonia
Footwear
introduces
clean, natural
lines that offer performance and style for
Spring 2008. The line offers new technical
styles, minimalist designs and product created
for care-free travel. Whether walking on
trails, cycling to work or strolling to the café,
the Bagley and Quintin sport non-marking,
non-slip recycled rubber outsoles for traction,
and a two-toned, pigskin sneaker style
that won’t stain, the company says. Hemp
styles for women include the Nuka, a minimalist
espadrille, or the lace-up Wilkins (pictured),
boasting a feminine, earthy pattern.
Polar Bottle
Polar Bottle’s new
20-ounce insulated
bottle shares
the same patented
double-walled
construction and reflective
foil layer as the 24-ounce
version. Designed to keep
beverages cool, the bottles
now include a removable
carrying strap for carrying
convenience. Both bottle
sizes are available in red,
white and blue. The 20-
ounce Polar Bottle debuts
three new colors: green, purple
and yellow. In addition, the original 24-ounce
bottle is now available in gold, lime and pink.
MSRP: $8.95 and $9.95. 800.440.0358 or
Princeton Tec
The Fuel sheds 16 lumens of light for night
hikes and features four output settings (high,
medium, low and fast flash) to meet varying
conditions. Weighing just 77 grams, users
will barely
notice the
Fuel in their
backpacks.
The headlamp
uses a triangular,
3-AAA battery layout allowing for a
smaller front profile. In addition, the design
features an easy-access battery door and
creates a tougher, more secure housing, the
company says. The Fuel also has an asymmetrical
single arm bracket. MSRP: $24.99.
Ruff Wear
Ruff Wear’s Stow’n Go Clip is a clip version
of the original Stow’n Go Leash. It is an
ultralight lead, weighing less than 2.5 ounces
and clips easily to any dog collar. It features
a traffic handle for secure control and includes
a pick-up bag dispenser for cleaning
up messes. A storage case conveniently
stows the leash between tethered adventures.
It is available in black ice and sunset
orange. MSRP: $24.95. 888.783.3932 or
Samsonite
Samsonite’s Out-
Lab line consists of
five new collections
of outdoor luggage.
OutLab combines
the company’s heritage,
travel expertise
and technical
know-how with
modern design
and contemporary
style. The
SuperFabric Duffle Sloth uses SuperFabric
materials to resist cuts and abrasions, yet retain
the intrinsic properties of fabric. Tiny, hard
guard plates adhered to a base fabric provide
the fabric’s strength, which Samsonite says
can withstand more than three times the
force from a steel razor blade compared to
nylon. Users can peel the mesh wrap back
to reveal padded shoulder straps. In addition,
the duffel’s 420-denier double-sided TPU
coated nylon fabric makes it waterproof on
both sides, the company says. Welded seams
and hardware and waterproof zippers are additional
highlights. www.samsonite.com
SCARPA
Building on the success
of its Mustang GTX
platform, SCARPA North
America will introduce
three new hiking
boots for Spring
2008: the Nangpa-
La GTX, the Kailash
GTX (pictured) and
the Barun GTX. The Nangpa-La GTX and the
Kailash GTX are lighter and less rigid than the
Mustang GTX, while the Barun GTX is a bit
more rugged. The Kailash is intended for day
hikers and backpackers who want an easy-tobreak-in
boot with a bit more oomph in the
midsole. The boot also employs a redesigned,
cushy SCARPA-Vibram Hi-Trail Lite sole and
bi-directional ankle flex design for support
and flexibility. MSRP: $169. 303.998.2898 or
