2.4.3 President’s Office<br />
Functions<br />
The President controls and directs the activities and staff <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Institute</strong>.<br />
She/he is responsible to the Governing Body for the efficient and proper<br />
management <strong>of</strong> the College.<br />
<strong>Section</strong> 9 <strong>of</strong> the Regional Technical Colleges Act, together with the 3rd<br />
Schedule, covers the selection and role <strong>of</strong> the President.<br />
The President is an ex-<strong>of</strong>ficio member <strong>of</strong> the Governing Body, the<br />
Academic Council, and all sub-committees <strong>of</strong> either body.<br />
Services provided to the public<br />
The President will meet with members <strong>of</strong> the public if this is required to<br />
further the development and management <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Institute</strong>.<br />

• Minutes <strong>of</strong> top management group meetings, together with<br />
supporting documentation<br />
• Annual reports<br />
• Correspondence with the Department <strong>of</strong> Education and Science and<br />
with other external bodies<br />
