Commission, Government of India, were among the dignitaries who visited the Institute
and interacted with the faculty and students.
N Casimir Raj participated in the Asia Pacific HR Conference organized in Chennai in
early December. Paul and Augustine took time off to make their annual retreat at the B
Ed College and Loyola School, respectively.

From Berkeley
I have completed my first semester quite well - three research papers and a project as part
of my course requirements. From 18 December our Christmas holiday begins.
I am going to Los Angeles on 21 December with one of my class-mates. It takes about 9
to 10 hours by road. I will spend two nights there in one of the Jesuit Communities and
hope to meet E.C. Sebastian, a Jesuit priest from Patna, on the 22nd. On the 23rd a Jesuit
companion of my Community at Berkeley will take me to his house and I will celebrate
my Christmas with him. On the 26 th another Jesuit companion will take me to San Diego,
about two hours from Los Angeles. On 28 December I will return to Berkeley.
On 8 November Hector D‟Souza, POSA, and Greg, Kohima Superior visited Berkeley.
Their visit brought all the Indian Jesuits together and we had a Eucharistic celebration
and a nice fellowship meal.
From Mexico

I write this message from Parras, a parish in the north of Mexico, not far from the US
border. I am here as part of our apostolic experience. It is a huge parish with 45000
parishioners and many Mass-centres. I go around visiting village chapels and say Mass. It
is very cold here. The people in the villages are rather very poor. I will go back to our
tertianship in Guadalajara after Christmas. We begin our long-retreat in the first week of
January. Please remember us in your prayers.
