This month we had some distinguished visits from the Provincial, Stan Lourduswami,
and Shree Bagun Sumbrui.
- John Tony
Tumudibandha
On 19 th February, the Provincial along with Gyan, Delegate for Orissa, Victor Joseph,
Tony Uvari and Joe Xavier expressed their love toward us by visiting us and bringing
bags full of sweets. In the recent history of Tumudibandha Jesuit community, it was the
first time when ten Jesuits gathered, offered Mass, dined, and enjoyed each others
company. While the Provincial was busy meeting each individual of the community,
others were taking in the natural beauty of the place. Needless to say the Provincial‟s visit
to our community was a kind of boon for each member of the community. His visit has
surely made a positive impact on each individual. His exhortation has really stirred us to
face the new challenges and oppornities with proper discernment and optimism.
Finally, after a very long period of time since the Kandhamal riots flared up, Praful and
Paul have decided to stay in the Tumudibandha house. Praful is actively busy with relief
and rehabilitation work and Paul takes care of the house as the minister.
If anyone wants to meet Cornie, he does not have to look for him at the residence but in
the mandali. He says that a Parish Priest‟s work is cut out for 24 hours and thus he strains
every nerve to give most of his time to the laity. These days he was seen busy organizing
the Lourdes festival on 22 nd February for the first time in his tenure.
