Monday, June 6 at 9:05pm
Repeats at midnight
Fado, the beautiful traditional music of Portugal, is the music of sorrow and
of Portuguese-Mozambican descent. Riveting performances, interviews and
archival footage combine to tell the evocative story of fado.
in Paris’ Montmartre neighborhood. The music of James Reese Europe, Josephine
Baker, Sidney Bechet, Django Reinhardt and many others enlivens this colourful look
at the Jazz Age.
