Lestari Scholtes and Gwylim Janssens are recognized
as one of the most accomplished piano duos of their
generation, and the leading Dutch piano duo. Their
2009 Carnegie Hall debut was ecstatically praised: ‘it
could well have been 25 or 30 fingers, so big and well
integrated was the sound. Terrific duo in top form'.

Afro-jazz singer Punah shot to fame in 2001
and is Botswana’s most successful female
musician. This award-winning performer is
one of Africa’s queens of the genre alongside
Miriam Makeba and Dorothy Masuka. Her
stirring vocals convey passion and an intensity
that is deep and unmistakably African. Punah
is an exciting, gifted artist who consistently
causes a stir among lovers of Afro-jazz.
She has performed at the biggest festivals in
South Africa, Botswana and Canada.
Punah mixes contemporary and traditional
music, social commentary and Afro-hypnotic
jazz and the spellbinding result appeals to old
and young. One of the most talented lyricists
of our time, she does not shy away from
controversy and it is this honesty that appeals
to her fans. One not to be missed.

A musical extravanganza and an
experience never to be forgotten!
Commisioned in support of the
Bulawayo schools music programme,
The Song of the Carnivores is magic
brought alive.
Written by Richard Sisson especially for the Bulawayo schools music programme, and premiered in
2012, this performance marks the beginning of this Song’s journey around Africa. 10% of proceeds
raised will go to keep the Bulawayo schools music programme growing.
For only one performance, a stellar cast of musicians and artists have come together, including
children from primary schools all over Zimbabwe, four string quartets (three from South Africa),
a marimba band, a double bass from the United Kingdom, Angela Thomas (Soprano) and Patrick
Ange-Duhy (Tenor) from Zimbabwe, and the composer himself joining to conduct the entire
orchestra and combined choir.
The musical was written to raise awareness of our five carnivores, the Lion, the Leopard, the
Hyena, the Cheetah and the Wild Dog. Come with the entire family to listen to these brave and
fabulous five tell their story through some of the most beautiful music ever written for children in
our country.
