9.69 ART JEWELRY: FABRICATION<br />

BEGINNING–ADVANCED<br />

JOSEPH BRANDOM<br />

With a variety <strong>of</strong> metals, learn to<br />

develop the skills and techniques<br />

necessary to take designs from<br />

concept to completion. Beginning<br />

students are introduced to studio<br />

equipment, torches and tools<br />

focusing on the basics <strong>of</strong> sawing,<br />

piercing, soldering, riveting,<br />

surface treatment, filing, sanding<br />

and polishing. Intermediate<br />

to advanced students study<br />

techniques such as hollow beads,<br />

fold-forming, roller-printing, stone<br />

setting, forging, chasing and<br />

tool-making.<br />
