The FPVC<br />

– Fetches its own instructi<strong>on</strong>s<br />
– Operates <strong>on</strong> scalar data<br />
• Loop c<strong>on</strong>trol is local to the FPVC<br />
– Is completely aut<strong>on</strong>omous of the main processor<br />
– Includes divide <strong>an</strong>d square root in floating point<br />
pipelined data path
