South <strong>Belfast</strong><br />
The South <strong>Belfast</strong> extends from the city centre in the north to Castlereagh Borough<br />
Council in the south, from West Link/Boucher Road in the west to the Ravenhill Road<br />
in the east. South <strong>Belfast</strong> remains a popular place to live and invest despite the<br />
current downturn. The main tenure is owner occupation; however private rental<br />
continues to be very popular. Many of the private rental properties are in the form of<br />
Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO’s), with high concentrations in the Lower<br />
Lisburn Road and University areas.<br />
Overall waiting list demand has remained consistent. Single households comprise the<br />
largest household group, representing 60% of the housing stress waiting list.<br />
