Mennonite Week at U of W The University of Winnipeil has sched uled severa l publi c events to mark the 1 OOth ann i versary of the arrival of the first eighteen Mennonite families to Manitoba. Two internationally recogni zed Mennonite scholars will deliver lectures on Mennonite themes: Dr. Frank Epp, president of Conrad Grebel College, Waterloo, Ontario will speak on Menn onite roots in the pa st on Thursday, October 24. Dr. R. Kreider , of Bluffton College, Ohio w ill spea k on the Mennonite in today's world on Friday, October 25 . Both lectures arc at 12:40 p.m. in Theatre A, Manitoba Hall. These scholars will be joined by three noted Mani toban s, Dr. Roy Vogt of the University of Manitoba, Dr. A. Dueck of the Mennonite Brethren Bible College and Mr. A. Ens, arch ivist at the Ca nadian Mennonite Bible College f or a sy mposium on the topic: "Mennonites and Pacifism" Thursday, October 24 at 7: 30 p.m., again in Theatre A. The strong contribution of Mennonites in choir and music will be recogni zed by a musical evening with the Gerbrandt Singers and the M ennonite Children's Choir on Friday, October 25 in the Riddell Hall gymnasium at 8: 30 p.m. The Gerbrandt Singers will present a Handel' and Bach program while the choir will feature a folk song repertoire. Together the two groups will present a special 1 O-minute program of music from the show 'Oliver.' During "Mennonite Week," there will be a display of tM traditional Mennonite way of life in the University Library Mezzanine, closing on Sunday, October 27. mm CONCORDIA HOSPITAL is moving to its new location in the near future.
