CHAPTER 2: FUNDING SOURCES
At the conclusion of the study period, participating agencies were asked to report on the
sources of their cash funding in order to compare the amounts and types of public and
private funding sources. The total cash amount spent differs slightly among agencies
because a few agencies were not able to match study period dates exactly.
Less than half (41%) of the reported cash funding for homeless services came from public
sources – Federal, State, County, and City – and 59 percent (59%) came from private sources.
