* This refers only to cooperation bureaus in countries where there is no Belgian embassy: Bamako, Cotonou, Maputo, Niamey, Quito and
La Paz. Twenty-one offices are in the grounds of an embassy, consulate general or Permanent Representation.
In 2007, two missions were closed: the embassy in
Libreville in Gabon and the consulate in Palma de
Mallorca. Missions were opened in four locations: an
embassy in Baku, a Permanent Representation at the
Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons
(OPCW) and at other international institutions in The
Hague, a consulate general in Bukavu (actual opening
in November 2007), and a consulate in Nice (previously
an honorary consulate).
