Section 6 - Graduation and Transfer Information<br />
<strong>Palomar</strong> <strong>College</strong> 2010-2011 Catalog<br />
<strong>the</strong>ir IGETC course list. Coursework <strong>complete</strong>d at o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
colleges and universities may be included with approval from<br />
PC faculty and <strong>the</strong> Evaluations Office. CLEP credit or foreign<br />
coursework will not be included on <strong>the</strong> IGETC certification.<br />
8. Advanced Placement (AP) exams can be used to satisfy<br />
many course requirements on IGETC. Please refer to <strong>the</strong> AP<br />
Exam Chart in Section 5 of <strong>the</strong> <strong>catalog</strong> or to <strong>the</strong> Articulation<br />
web site (www.palomar.edu/articulation/) for acceptable<br />
scores and placement. See a counselor for AP acceptance<br />
toward major prep and units toward transfer. Credit will be<br />
given for only one course per area.<br />
9. International Baccalaureate (IB) exams can be used to satisfy<br />
many course requirements on IGETC. Please refer to <strong>the</strong> IB<br />
Exam Chart in Section 5 of <strong>the</strong> <strong>catalog</strong> to <strong>the</strong> Articulation<br />
web site (www.palomar.edu/articulation/) for acceptable<br />
scores and placement. See a counselor for IB acceptance<br />
toward major prep and units toward transfer. Credit will be<br />

10. If transferring to a UC, a high school transcript demonstrating<br />
2 years of <strong>the</strong> same foreign language with a final grade of<br />
‘C’ or better will satisfy Area 6. An official high school<br />
transcript must be on file with <strong>the</strong> Records Office.<br />
11. Students wishing to use a course to meet an IGETC<br />
requirement must be sure that <strong>the</strong> course is on <strong>the</strong> approved<br />
list during <strong>the</strong> academic year in which it is taken. Refer to<br />
<strong>the</strong> statement and semester approval lists following <strong>the</strong><br />
IGETC pattern.<br />
12. For partial IGETC certification information, make an<br />
appointment with a counselor through <strong>the</strong> Counseling Center.<br />
