PARC members participating in the event each receive one (1) participation ticket for the drawing at the club picnic in August. A good time was had bv all. KZ6X brought up his trailer for sleeping. KF6BL is probably in Saudi now with the Marines. Karl was chief Hancho for the event and gets credit for coordinating the operation even if he did get a bad cold which limited his participation. For PARC members who live in areas with antenna restrictions. have eguipment problems. or are new to amateur radio. these contests allow VOLI to operate the latest equi pment with excellent antennas. We usuallv start the "in-e~perienced" out with logging so that YOU can see how the more e)(perienced operators function. When vou feel confident. VOLI can then be assigned a position at the microphone. We need experienced operators for when the BIG ONE COMES! only trying to determine that all of .~. the message has been sent or received. Remember that our evening traffic nets are "traininq nets" so don~t be afraid to handle traffic. The net control is more than willinq to help and instruct. B~~ CLUB POLICY. Groups wishin9 to conduct nets on the PARC repeaters need to contact club officials before using the repeaters. This is so that we ~cnow the name and address of the responsible person and so so we can advise them on the proper use of the repeater. This is usually done 3-4 weeks before the event and approved bv the e)lecuti ve commi ttee or the president in consultation with another officer.
