At the end of each club year
(July 31st) membership drops because
of club members moving. disinchanted
with us or amateur radio, forgot to
renew, etc. But 1n the end we
always end up the club year with
more members than we had the year
before. Recently we thought we
might hit 400 members by the end of
this past club year but we ended up
with 450 members.
We are now at 410 members but
should pass 450 within several
months as the "forgots· and new
memberships come into us. We are
guessing that we will hit near 500
by next August. We have always been
one of the largest club groups
(excluding repeater associations) in
California and the USA and an ARRL
publication indicates we are 13th in
size among the ARRL Special Service
Clubs.
Being large is not our intention.
Our intention 1s to be of service to
radio amateurs in San Diego County
and to the public in time of need.
While some join PARC because of the
repeaters and autopatches. others
join because of our envolvement in a
club program with attendance between
80-110 at meetings.
If we are not serving your needs,
please let us know about your
interests.
