With the advent of OPERATION<br />
DESERT STORM our evening traffic net<br />
has been loaded with MARS (Military<br />
Affiliated Radio System) traffic<br />
within San Diego County and traffic<br />
headed up north (SCNV). We want to<br />
thank all net participants and net<br />
controls for the great job they are<br />
doing.<br />

Henry-WBOYCQ and Larry-KC6PEN are<br />
pushing the simplex frequency of<br />
146.535 for emergency and ragchewing<br />
in the San Luis Rey valley.<br />
They claim to have 17 amateurs in<br />
the area and Henry monitors all day<br />
EVERY Friday. The club has never<br />
had a ·c1ub simplex· frequency and<br />
this frequency might be worth our<br />
consideration as a club frequency.<br />

John-WB6IQS telling someone about<br />
how the Poles sent a combat force to<br />
the Gulf - but that the Mexican<br />
government didn't know what to do<br />
with them. At the last club meeting<br />
John was showing a picture of a<br />
mobile SCUD launcher.<br />
Larry-W6HKI with his wife Maxine<br />
W6HKL are new advertisers in the<br />
SCOPE. Larry operates "THE FISHING<br />
HOLE· and Maxine operates the<br />
companion booth where she sells<br />
earrings (4/$1 and up). Larry gives<br />
PARC members a 10~ reduction in<br />
price if they have the1r badge on<br />
and he now says he will also give<br />
10% to the club. If you haven't<br />
been to an Oceanside swap meet<br />
lately. you might consider a visit<br />
sometime soon. Its a great place to<br />
take v1siting guests from other<br />
parts of the USA. Larry and Maxine<br />

some nice printing with his computer<br />
and printer. He has a nice colored<br />
QSL card which he made up using his<br />
equipment.<br />

for eye glasses for their Tecate Eye<br />
CliniC each month. If you have any<br />
old glasses or can locate a supply<br />
of them from friends, please bring<br />
them to the next meeting and give<br />
them to Nacho-W6HCD or Stan-W9FQN.<br />
They are also looking for any kind<br />
of doctor, nurse, pharmacis t,<br />
audiologists. dentists, optomo10<br />
gists, hygienists. Spanish translators,<br />
etc. to help at Flying<br />
Samaritan Clinics in Testerazo,<br />
Tecate, Rancho Rosarito, San Felipe,<br />
and others to humorous to mention.<br />
