2.2.4 Service 4 — Family and carers support
Family and carer support includes the provision of a range of flexible family support
and respite services to support families and carers in their primary care-giving role.

4,648 people received family and carer support.
The total cost for this financial year was $64.126 million,
averaging $13,796 per person.
Key strategies:
• Continue to develop initiatives that support carers.
• Work with disability service providers to build awareness and understanding of issues
and concerns facing families and carers of people with disability.
• Promote leadership to enhance families and carers participation in community life.
• Offer practical strategies to support carers and enable them to plan for their futures.
