Bridleway:<br />

A public right <strong>of</strong> way for horse riders, cyclists and<br />

pedestrians.<br />

Design Year:<br />

15 years after the expected date <strong>of</strong> opening a<br />

scheme to traffic.<br />

Footpath:<br />

A public right <strong>of</strong> way for pedestrians.<br />

Highways Agency:<br />

An executive agency <strong>of</strong> the Department for Transport.<br />

Overbridge:<br />

A bridge passing over the proposed dual carriageway<br />

or another route.<br />

Site <strong>of</strong> Importance for Nature A non-statutory designated site <strong>of</strong> nature<br />

Conservation:<br />

conservation interest <strong>of</strong> regional or local importance.<br />

Trunk Road:<br />

A main road open to all traffic that is part <strong>of</strong> the<br />

national network managed and maintained by the<br />

Highways Agency.<br />

Two-Level Junction:<br />

A junction whereby traffic leaving or joining the main<br />

road passes over or under it on the side road (also<br />

known as a grade separated junction).<br />

Underbridge: A bridge passing under the proposed dual<br />

carriageway or another route.<br />

Underpass:<br />

A route beneath the proposed dual carriageway or<br />

another route for horse riders, cyclists and/or<br />

pedestrians.
