(Inspired by an event related to Mr. Corsaro by Leonard Bernstein, who had approached Berg’s widow<br />

about completing Lulu. Mrs. Berg later informed Bernstein that she had “asked” her husband, but he said<br />

he did not want Bernstein to complete <strong>the</strong> opera. Bernstein concluded that Mrs. Berg had relied on a<br />

séance to “contact” her husband).<br />
