From St. Edmund‘s College, Ware. The oldest and most important English music manuscript to have survived dating<br />

from the mid-15 th century and consisting of a collection of parts of the Ordinary of the Mass to which certain hymns<br />

and motets were added. Covering the period of transition from the old conductus to the new polyphonic style,<br />

compositions range from the reign of Edward III to that of Henry VI and include the only genuine example of a work<br />

left by John Dunstable in his own country, the motet Veni, Sancte Spiritus (folio 55b).<br />
