THE CHICKEN MARKETING PLAN REGULATIONS – RESEARCH PRODUCTION REGISTRATION
Order No. 71/12. The CHICKEN FARMERS OF SASKATCHEWAN Board, pursuant to the provisions of
The Chicken Marketing Plan Regulations and The Agri-Food Act, 2004, hereby determines and orders as
follows:
1 Researchers who desire to perform research on chickens, and have that chicken enter into the food supply,
in the Province of Saskatchewan shall register with the Board. Researchers shall be defined as those who
perform research identified in section 2 of this Order.
2 Research for the purposes of this Order shall be defined as research being conducted with the majority of
the results and benefits of the research being distributed to the industry.
3 Eligibility for research production registration shall be determined by the Board and shall be initiated by
filing with the Board a complete, Board-approved application form which shall include, but not be limited to,
the following information with respect to each research project:
(a) the name, address and contact information of the researcher;
(b) the name and address of the institution or business where the research is to be conducted;
(c) a summary of the research initiative;
(d) the expected date of placement, date of processing and quantity of chicken to be produced; and
(e) the attachment of evidence with respect to the provision of an approved protocol governing the research
project.
4 Research production registration holds no value and such registration, time limits and production amounts
shall be at the discretion of the Board.
5 Researchers who qualify under section 3 shall be able to produce chicken without owning base quota.
