FRAMLINGHAM
...AT THE VERY HEART OF THE SUFFOLK COUNTRYSIDE
The attractive market town of Framlingham is dominated by a Norman Castle which was the seat
of the Earls and Dukes of Norfolk.
The Mere alongside the Castle is managed by Suffolk Wildlife Trust and a circular footpath
enables visitors to appreciate the abundance of wild flowers and wildlife.
The Town Trail, available through TIC’s, is a great way of finding out more about the town’s
history and interesting buildings.
In 2006, 'Country Life' magazine voted Framlingham the number one place to live in the country
and came runner up in 2005’s contest to find Englands Favourite Market Town.
The award winning Shawsgate Vineyard nearby offers winetasting, tours and a childrens play
area with a retail outlet selling their wide range of wines, ciders and non-alcoholic grape juices.
The award winning farm attraction, Easton Farm Park, offers a unique experience for children
with the chance to hug-a-bunny, feed the goats or take a horse and carriage ride with one of the
Suffolk Punch horses.
