The largest vegetated shingle spit in Europe<br />

with important plant communities and bird<br />

colonies. The Ness was a secret military site<br />

from 1913 until the mid 1980s. Access is by<br />

ferry from Orford Quay. There is a five mile<br />

walking route with information and displays.<br />
