Snape Maltings is a unique collection of Victorian buildings over 7 acres set<br />
amidst breath-taking scenery beside the River Alde. The buildings are filled with<br />
a mix of shops, galleries and featured exhibitions. The Granary Tea Shop serves<br />
home made cakes, sandwiches and rolls with an emphasis on local produce<br />
throughout the menu. The Plough & Sail Public House is situated on the<br />
frontage of The Maltings with local ales and serving lunch and dinner.<br />
Snape Maltings is an inspiring location which hosts a monthly Farmers Market<br />
along the quay, river trips and RSPB guided walks along the Alde Estuary.<br />

This working mill dates from 1803<br />
and is a visitor centre for Suffolk<br />
Coast and Heaths Area of<br />
Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).<br />
Previously used to pump water to<br />
the water tower now known as<br />
The House in the Clouds. The mill<br />
contains information about the<br />
AONB, the mill and Thorpeness.<br />
No parking available.<br />
Open from Easter weekend 2008.<br />
Opening times vary. Group tours by<br />
arrangement. Free entry but<br />
donations are welcome.<br />
The Mill is run on behalf of Suffolk<br />

EAST <strong>SUFFOLK</strong> LINES<br />
Ipswich to Lowestoft including through services to London.<br />
The railway between Ipswich and Lowestoft has<br />
long been known as the East Suffolk Line. The line<br />
links Lowestoft and the market towns in East<br />
Suffolk with Ipswich.<br />
Woodbridge is a delightful Suffolk town, with its<br />
Tide Mill and award-winning floral displays. It has<br />
an unrivalled selection of local shops, and many<br />
wonderful places to eat and drink.<br />
Nearby Melton’s station offers access to good<br />
walking along the river Deben and the surrounding<br />
countryside, and is near to Sutton Hoo.<br />
Wickham Market station is in the village of Campsea<br />
Ashe, and is close to Easton Farm Park.<br />
Saxmundham is a small market town with good<br />
connections for Aldeburgh and Leiston.<br />
Darsham station has connections by Coastlink to<br />
both Minsmere and Dunwich.<br />
