Reaching minds. Touching hearts.
It is an honour for me, on behalf of the Board, to present the 2004-2005
Annual Report for Rainbow District School Board to the Premier of Ontario,
the Minister of Education and our partners in education in Sudbury,
Espanola and Manitoulin. We welcome this opportunity to publicly report
on our progress in a spirit of accountability, transparency and good governance.

The Province of Ontario continued to demonstrate its commitment
to student success through new investments in education in both
elementary and secondary schools. I commend the Premier and the Minister
for recognizing the importance of giving students an “education advantage”
so they all have an opportunity to contribute to a vibrant economy
and cohesive society.
Once again, our teaching and non-teaching staff proved that they are
passionate about the work that they do on behalf of students in Rainbow
Schools. Students benefited from ongoing support from the home, the school
and the community, with all partners joining together to maximize success.
I would like to thank our partners in education, including parents/guardians,
for their ongoing support of our efforts.
The success stories that emerged throughout the 2004-2005 school year,
many of which are captured in the pages of this report, give meaning
to reaching minds and touching hearts. New investments in education,
caring adults and powerful partnerships are having a positive impact on
student achievement in Rainbow Schools.
