c) Develop action plans for capacity building with close involvement of resource organizations to execute the capacity building
action plans.
d) Carry out regular monitoring, evaluation and learning.
e) Ensure smooth flow of funds to watershed development projects.
f) Ensure timely submission of required documents to SLNA/Nodel Agency of the Department at central level.
g) Facilitate and co-ordination with relevant programmes of agriculture, horticulture, rural development, animal husbandry, etc
with watershed development and convergence plans for enhancement of productivity and livelihoods interventions for asset less
persons.
h) Integrate and co-ordinate watershed development projects/plans into district plans of the district planning committees.
i) Establish and maintain the District Level Date Cell and link it to the State Level and National Level Data Centre.
Moreover, the DWDU, Rajkot is working as a PIA for three IWMP projects.
2.2.2 Programmes/projects running in the district
At present 21 IWMP projects have been sanctioned by Government of India for the Rajkot district. The entry point activities of all
the 6 IWMP-10-11 projects have identified by the PIAs in the district. Rajkot Normal Forest Division as PIA for the four projects
(IWMP-4, 5, 7 & 8), Rajkot Social Forest division as PIA for two (IWMP-1 & 6) projects and DWDU-self is as PIA for the three
projects (IWMP-2, 3 & 9) for 2009-10 and IWMP 10-15 (6 projects) for the year 2010 & 11 .
Apart from running nineteen IWMP projects, total 748 pre-Hariyali & Hariyali projects (DDP & IWDP) has been sanctioned and out
of that 348 projects are completed and 400 projects are still running in the district. DWDU Rajkot is also monitoring a central
government sponsored scheme on "Artificial Recharge of Groundwater through Dug wells" in the district which is spread over nine
talukas.
