Join the Jazz Lab Ensemble as it investigates the<br />
spiritually-motivated music of John Coltrane. In<br />
the mid-1960s, ’Trane’s influence on the direction<br />
of jazz was profound, and this concert will feature<br />
selected movements from his epic suite, “A Love<br />
Supreme.”<br />

Two avant-garde one-act plays will be performed<br />
by <strong>Saddleback</strong> students. Experience the crazy life<br />
of characters in The Bald Soprano as they speak<br />
gibberish and barely seem to communicate.<br />
Eugene Ionesco was a Romanian and French<br />
playwright and dramatist and one of the foremost<br />
playwrights of the Theatre of the Absurd.<br />

Capricho!<br />
Francisco Goya’s images, Los Caprichos, are<br />
a dark journey through the mindscape of the<br />
artist. Set to music by Castelnuovo-Tedesco,<br />
Capricho! combines live music with digital<br />
projections. Canadian Guitarist Alexander<br />
Dunn performs selections from Tedesco’s<br />
Caprichos de Goya, Op. 195, with short films<br />
based on Goya by Canadian artist Daniel<br />
Laskarin.<br />
Music of Two Worlds<br />
Using a large canvas storybook, dramatic<br />
lighting, ambient props, and colorful narration,<br />
guitarist and faculty member Randy Pile<br />
focuses on the music of Spain’s most famous<br />
composer of the 20th century, Joaquín<br />
Rodrigo, and the father of Brazil’s national<br />
music, Heitor Villa-Lobos.<br />

<strong>Saddleback</strong> <strong>College</strong> jazz combos play great<br />
standards and original works. This culminating,<br />
