Roy Hardgrove, Peter Erskine, Gary Burton, Lee<br />

Ritenour and a host of other luminaries. Come<br />

presents the winners of the <strong>2012</strong> Music Teachers<br />

Association of California Concerto Competition.<br />

Featured performers are First Place Concerto<br />

Competition winner cellist Chris Healy and Third<br />

Place Concerto Competition winner violinist<br />

Suzanne Kite. The program includes Gioacchino<br />

Rossini: Overture to L’italiana in Algeri (The<br />

Italian Girl in Algiers); Aram Khachaturian: Violin<br />

Concerto in D Minor, Movement 1; Gabriel Fauré:<br />

Elegy Op. 24 for Cello and Orchestra; and Antonin<br />

Dvorak: Symphony No. 9 Op. 95 From the New<br />

World.<br />

Under the direction of John Hannon, the Wind<br />

Ensemble closes its annual festival with an<br />

evening performance featuring some of the finest<br />

Funny weatherman Fritz Coleman makes a return<br />

performance to the McKinney stage and he brings<br />

with him Tom Ogden, who mixes magic with his<br />

comedy, and Tony Russell, who is a triple threat<br />

with his music, comedy and acting talents. These<br />

three hilarious comedians will surely make<br />

you laugh till your sides ache.<br />

Los Angeles-based violist Born Lau has been<br />

hailed as “one of this new generation of violists’<br />

premier talents.” His concert will include the world<br />

premiere of <strong>Saddleback</strong> faculty member Norman<br />

Weston’s Aria, Tango and Gigue for unaccompanied<br />

viola.<br />
