Here we are again hurtling towards the end of
the year with quite a few things happening across
Aberdeen City and Shire to keep you amused and
out of mischief.
Firstly it’s time to quash all rumours that
Wellmans has been closed down! It’s still there
and open 7 days a week at 218 Holburn Street. If
you want to know more about prices, times etc call
them on Aberdeen (01224) 211441, you can also
take part in the prize draw to win £100 of Slaters
vouchers at Wellmans with all money going to
Terrence Higgins Trust Scotland.
On the deen scene you’ll find two main venues and
one very gay friendly venue with something for
everyone, if you like cheese and chart then Cheerz
Bar & Club is the place for you! Vicars and Tarts is
the theme on Tue 2nd Nov with Miss Cherry
Bakewell, sounds sweet and innocent but FAR
from it the night will be £2 entry with all the money
going to the Anchor Unit at Aberdeen Royal
Infirmary. Pop Heaven returns on Fri 12th Nov
With Jaymi Hensley and new girl group Vanquish,
DJ Ross Barney will be back in Cheerz Club on Nov
26th and 27th from 11.45pm-3am, playing
everything from J-Lo to J-Pop, please treat him
gently as he is new to DJ’ing on the scene, not a
scene relic... sorry legend like Mr Motion! Cheerz
would like to remind you that queue jump bands
are available from the bar from 9pm Fri/Sat night

friendly banter filled Market Arms next door to
Cheerz Bar. Join Alan for Karaoke most Sats in

For those of you a wee bit out of town the
fabulous Vallure Café Bar at the Garioch Centre
in Inverurie is a great wee place for a relaxed
coffee, glass of wine and food. They are
organising some theme nights too, keep an eye on
ScotsGay and also the Vallure facebook page for

Terrence Higgins Trust Scotland in Aberdeen
are holding an open day on Sat 27th Nov to give
you a chance to go in and see their facilities and
services. They will also be offering a clinic on the
day with 20 minute HIV Fastest amongst other
tests available. Appointments can be made or you
can just drop in between 10am and 4pm on 27th
Nov. The usual testing clinic is open on Thu from
5-8pm. For more information drop in at 246

drop in for information, condoms and more during
normal office hours.
Cheerz Bar are holding a Knickers in a Twist
fundraiser for Terrence Higgins Trust Scotland on
Wed 1st Dec from 8pm-2am. £1 entry to Terrence
Higgins Trust plus £1 per chance to win £100 of
Slaters Vouchers. There will also be prizes for the
best pants including Aussiebum Undies and
goodies.
Aberdeen’s Gay Football team the Stormers
are holding a fundraising night at The Ashvale,
Great Western Road on 26th Nov from 7.30pm for
more info contact them via the

include an Ashvale Supper of your choice.
The Aberdeen T Girls are hitting the town again on
Sat 11th Dec from 8pm-3am for those that can
handle it. The venue is Cheerz Bar & Club, Hadden
Street. Caz Scott who organises the T Nights says:
“It’s the Christmas Bash and our last Aberdeen T-
Girls Night Out for 2010 and what a year it’s been -
Dress Festive if you want, sparkles, red and white,
Santa costumes or fancy dress even. Or just turn
up
in party clobber and let’s have a
brilliant night”. Come along and meet new and old
friends at Scotland’s greatest T Girl night out.

DAMNED IF WE DO - FUCKED IF WE DON'T...
In the last issue of ScotsGay, we published a piece by Anne McLaughlin with the word "fuck" in
it. This was changed from “****” without reference to the writer. Ms McLaughlin informs us that
"The word I was replacing was 'damn' but I thought even that might be offensive to some people
which is why I put the asterisks. I don't have a problem with other people swearing but it is not
really me.". ScotsGay finds the use of asterisks in this way insulting to the intelligence of our
readers. It can also give rise to confusion amongst readers (and the editor) as to the intention of
writers. If ScotsGay deems a word offensive, it simply isn't used!
