In no event shall any allowance be increased by an amount greater than fifty dollars<br />

($50) a month or less than ten dollars ($10) a month.<br />

This section shall not be operative in any county until such time as the board <strong>of</strong><br />

supervisors shall, by ordinance adopted by majority vote, make the provisions <strong>of</strong> this section<br />

applicable in such county.<br />

§31739.32. Increase in retirement, optional death and annual death allowances; adoption <strong>of</strong><br />

section by ordinance<br />

Every retirement allowance, optional death allowance, or annual death allowance,<br />

including an allowance payable to a survivor <strong>of</strong> a member, payable to or on account <strong>of</strong> any<br />

member <strong>of</strong> this system or <strong>of</strong> a superseded system who has been or was retired for disability is<br />

increased as follows:<br />

In no event shall any allowance be increased by an amount greater than seventy-five<br />

($75) a month or less than twenty-five dollars ($25) a month. A member with credit for 10 or<br />

more years <strong>of</strong> service in the system shall receive not less than twenty-five dollars ($25) a month.<br />

This section shall not be operative in any county until such time as the board <strong>of</strong><br />

supervisors shall, by ordinance adopted by majority vote, make the provisions <strong>of</strong> this section<br />

applicable in such county.<br />

§31739.33. Increase in retirement, optional death or annual death allowances under $500;<br />

adoption by county<br />

(a) Except as provided in subdivision (b), a retirement allowance, optional death<br />

allowance or annual death allowance, including an allowance payable to a survivor <strong>of</strong> a<br />

member, payable to or on account <strong>of</strong> any member <strong>of</strong> this system or <strong>of</strong> a superseded system who<br />

has been or was retired for disability which did not on July 1, 1976, exceed five hundred dollars<br />

($500) per month is hereby increased as follows:<br />
